Sunday was a beautiful day to celebrate our Lord's resurrection. The choir did a great job and our son, Jesse, played a beautiful piece he wrote especially for the occasion. That morning at 9:30 am Sally was on channel 4's Flashpoint. She was debating a homosexual pastor here in Oklahoma City and did a wonderful job. Everyone watching that program heard the gospel of Jesus Christ explained simply and clearly. You can go to channel 4's web site and watch the replay at KFOR.com. under Home at the top of the page. She stood for truth and did not back down. We had several in the service Sunday morning who came to show their support for Sally and our church for taking a stand.
We all need a reminder that next Sunday is our monthly fellowship luncheon and we need for everyone to bring a covered dish. These fellowships have been well attended and serve to bring our church together. I enjoy them very much. It takes a little extra work but it is worth it. On April 12th, we will have a church wide spring cleaning workday. We will start at 9 a.m. and do some cleaning and fixing. There is a lot to be done so we need every able body to come help get the church in shape for summer.
Wednesday, April 2nd, we are going to have a rally at the state capitol at noon. It is going to be a freedom of speech rally to show our support for Sally's stand to tell the truth without apology. It would be great if we can get every member of Olivet there. The rally is being sponsored by Reclaim Oklahoma for Christ and Bott Radio Network. Paul Blair and Paul Sublett are leading out in this important event. We had a luncheon last Monday with 40 pastors of churches who all want to include their churches in the rally. We will also be including home school kids and Christian school kids. We need a large turnout to show Oklahoma that Christians are not going to sit idly by and let our freedom and values be eroded away. Make plans to attend, even if you have to take some time off from work. This is that important.
